White Development has developed plans for the restoration of the historic City Hotel on Perry Street in historic downtown Castle Rock, Colorado. Centered around the complete revitalization of the City Hotel (c. 1872), which will serve as the main food and beverage venue and gathering place, the project will feature a new 33-room boutique hotel, a rooftop bar with sprawling views of Castle Rock, and new retail spaces, all connected by an elegant and inviting courtyard. The project will be a new landmark for the Town, anchoring the renewal of the north end of Castle Rock’s historic downtown area.
The historically registered and landmarked building was originally constructed in the town of New Memphis in approximately 1872. The building was moved to its current location sometime after April 27, 1874. In its many years as The City Hotel, the building was the gathering place for the young Town of Castle Rock’s residents, a place to visit traveling doctors from Denver, and was widely known as the place for travelers to get a clean bed and a square meal at a fair rate.
The City Hotel project is reflective of White Development’s commitment to preserving the past while allowing it to serve a better future. The historic structure will be seamlessly blended with the new, providing new gathering spaces to explore and connect with friends, old and new.
