Stanley Marketplace is an adaptive-reuse commercial project situated in the former 1950s era Stanley Aviation Works research and manufacturing facility in Aurora, Colorado. The project occupies the existing 138,244 square foot facility and the surrounding 22 acre property. The finished markethall space hovers around 160,000 sq.ft. and is home to over fifty Colorado-owned and operated small businesses. The Stanley Marketplace includes an indoor/outdoor beer hall, multiple award-winning restaurants, a grocery and market, a large event space, retail space for multiple merchants, commercial office space, a community room, children’s programming, and ample outdoor areas.
Stanley Market’s defining characteristic is its diversity. Colorful spaces of varying sizes create homes for a broad group of businesses which are creatively connected on multiple levels through the reuse of existing structures from the historic warehouse to foster exploration. No two visits to the Market are the same and there’s always something new to discover.
This $20 million project located opened in the Fall of 2016 and proved to be a catalyst for the developing Stapleton neighborhood. Situated in the City of Aurora, the Stanley Marketplace creates a bridge between the two communities of Denver and Aurora that have physical barriers, psychological barriers, and demographic barriers.
“We are a community of like-minded businesses and people who believe in doing things differently: sustainably, thoughtfully, creatively, with way more than the bottom line in mind...We believe in making connections: between neighborhoods and generations and strangers and friends.” - The Stanifesto
